Sensory deprivation tanks were first created in the 1950’s by John C. Lily a medical practitioner and neuropsychiatrist to answer the question what happens when you eliminate outside stimulus. Today they are used in a practice known as floating. These tanks are filled with a mixture of water kept at body temperature and Epsom salt that create a feeling of weightlessness. Floating is beneficial for physical and emotional wellness, people often say that afterwards you feel well rested and realigned.
